First Time Setup
When unboxing and using CinCraft Scenario for the first time, an initial “First time setup” is required. The first-time setup does the following actions:
- Configure internet connectivity
- Download and install any mandatory software updates
- Check for any optional software updates
- Register the CinCraft Origin hardware with a CinCraft account
Registering the Origin with a CinCraft account is a requirement for licensing the system and must be done if intending to use the system in a production environment.
Hardware Registration can be skipped, this will allow the user to use the system in reduced mode. Upon restarting the Origin, the user will be invited to conduct the Hardware Registration again.
This section describes the first-time setup and hardware registration.
As a pre-requisite ensure that a CinCraft account has been created and that you have the login details required
Press “Start Initial Setup” to begin the Hardware Registration process
It is mandatory to have an active connection to the internet, from the subsequent page, connect a wired internet connection into the LAN port of the Origin, or alternatively enter WIFI credentials via the “Network Configuration” button
Once an active internet connection is detected then you will be able to proceed to the next step.
The CinCraft system will check for any updates, some updates are mandatory, and these are unable to be skipped
Once any optional or mandatory updates have been downloaded then you will be able to proceed to the next step.
To begin the hardware registration process, click the “Start Registration” button
This will display a 6 digit “Registration Code” and instructions to log into your CinCraft Portal account from another device
On a separate device, navigate to cincraft.zeiss.com and log into your CinCraft account
From the panel on the left-hand side, select “Device Registration” page from the Scenario section
On this page:
- Enter the 6-digit registration code
- Optionally give your system a name. Naming a system is not mandatory but can help with identifying a system when multiple hardware is attached to a single CinCraft account
- Press “Register Now”
The system will now bind the Origin to the CinCraft account. Once the hardware has been registered, CinCraft Scenario will report this as being completed successfully
Additionally, the device can now be seen on the “Device and License Management” tab of the CinCraft Portal
At this stage, the first-time setup process is complete, and you can continue setting up and using the system
