Delay
delay relates to the time difference between the data from the cambar and the image from the main camera when the delay has not been configured then it is likely that the two sources will be out of sync, this will result in cg elements moving either before or after the main camera has moved the delay value can vary depending on the camera and route of the video signal into the origin it is important to check the delay value prior to using the system to ensure that it is correctly configured the delay value is found and adjusted in the “ system timing system timing ” section of the settings panel the current tracker to main camera delay is shown in the blue button to modify the value, click the icon and adjust the resulting slider it's generally recommended to do the delay calibration after all other calibration steps have been completed the best way to check the delay value is to make short sharp movements with the camera while observing an augmented graphic make small adjustments to the delay until no observable discrepancy is detected between the main camera image and the augmented graphics changes to the value can take up to 1 second to apply to the image, so allow time for adjustments to be propogated before making further changes changes to the delay value are automatically saved to the current tracking config system timing to ensure smooth tracking at all times, a minimum amount of latency is required this value varies depending on the hardware configuration and camera framerate of the system the timing indicator provides real time feedback on the status of the system and whether additional latency is required when operating in the red or yellow range, then there is a possibility of dropped frames occuring, a notification will be displayed in the ui to warn of this by increasing the sdi buffer slider, more latency will be available to the system and the indicator should move into the green area this is the preferred operating state this is the preferred operating state having too much buffer applied will cause the indicator to move into the yellow area at the far right operationally, this area will provide good tracking but is discouraged as there is more buffer than required increasing the sdi buffer will add delay to the output tracking data delay details the diagram below describes how the "tracker to main" delay value adjusts the synchronisation of the cambar data with the video signal the ultimate end to end delay of the system is 2 frames, this is to allow for the tracking processing and synchronisation of the resulting data with the video signal
