depending on the intended usage of unreal engine, it may be necessary to configure media inputs media outputs genlock (timestep) timecode these can all be configured via a “media profile” a media profile allows all of the above settings to be configured in one place, additionally, multiple profiles can be created and easily moved between when required to create a media profile, select “new empty media profile” from the top menu bar of unreal engine select “media profile” from the menu and choose a location in the project content folder to save it open the media profile asset by navigating to it in the content browser and selecting it if the current project does not include any media proxies, the media profile will display this warning if this is the case, press “configure now” to create the required media proxies, the following pop up will define the number of input and output proxies required once the media proxies are created, or if they were already present, then return to the media profile panel and populate the settings that are relevant to your hardware and intended usage in the following example a 24p signal using a blackmagic decklink is configured ensure that the selected configuration matches your hardware and camera signal it’s typically recommended to ensure that timecode and genlock are correctly configured in the project, these settings are shown below and are using a 24p blackmagic decklink as an example after entering all the required parameters, the media profile can be saved and should be ready to use
