Adding A Lens
Manual Lens Calibration
Set Zero Point
At this stage the user must select a feature in the environment to use as a reference point for testing the calibration. This reference point is referred to as a “zero point”
The zero point can be set anywhere but there are some important considerations that should be kept in mind:
- The zero point should be clearly visible and easy to identify, even when out of focus
- The feature should not move during the fine tuning process; therefore it’s not recommended to set the zero point to a feature that could be moved (even unintentionally) during the process
- We recommend trying to set the zero point on a feature that is 10m away or greater form the camera. Shorter distances can be used but it is very important to acquire an accurate measurement from the CamBar to the selected feature
To set the zero point:
- Measure the distance in a straight line from the CamBar to the chosen feature
- Enter this value into the “Distance to Zero Point” field
- Pan and tilt the camera so that the camera is aiming at the chosen reference point.
- When the target is aligned accurately to the reference point, press “Lock Zero Point”
- After locking the zero point, a red calibration grid will be displayed on the camera image, this will be tracked as the camera pans and tilts
With the zero point set, the user can proceed to the final step by pressing “Next” in the upper right corner
If there is a visual delay between the camera and Calibration grid, this can be adjusted in the settings available in the lower left of the frame
