Introduction

The ZEISS CinCraft Scenario system is a powerful and flexible camera tracker, designed to exceed all the requirements needed for modern productions.

The system is comprised of a combination of hardware and software, and by utilizing a modern user interface with accurate built in lens calibration data, it is intended to make the first truly plug and play camera tracking system.

The hardware components of the system include:

  • CamBar – A sophisticated witness camera device that is designed to work in a wide variety of environments.
  • Origin – A small camera mounted computer that processes all the data from the CamBar and can record the processed camera tracking data locally while also streaming it out in real time for virtual production applications.
  • Link – A smaller, optional component that can be placed on the camera instead of the Origin, it acts as a bridge or link between the CamBar and Origin and reduces the hardware footprint that goes on the camera.

The software element of the system comprises of:

  • Scenario – The central software that allows the user to prepare their equipment, set up their tracking environment and stream real time tracking data. Scenario is only available on the Origin but it’s modern, browser based design, allows it to be operated from any connected device.
  • Wrangler – An optional component that is built into Scenario. It allows for the easy recording of tracking data, opening up the benefits of real time camera tracking to users in post production and non live applications. All Wrangler recorded data is designed to be used with the companion application “CinCraft Export”.
