Creating A New Lens
the first step of a lens calibration process is creating the starting lens file this is done on the “equipment” page on the camera that you wish to add the lens to, select the “ \<font color="#0f2db3">+\</font> ” icon if using the lens on multiple sensor sizes, we recommend calibrating it on the largest sensor mode first select the “ \<font color="#0f2db3">manual calibrated lens\</font> ” tab from the dialog box select the type of lens from the first drop down \<font color="#0f2db3">non zoom lens\</font> – for a prime lens that has a fixed focal length \<font color="#0f2db3">zoom lens\</font> – for zoom lenses where the focal length is variable \<font color="#0f2db3">static\</font> – for lenses where zoom and focus are completely fixed these don’t strictly exist but this option is offered when no lens encoding method is available and the user wishes to calibrate only a single point on the lens populate the title, manufacturer, series and model as required based off the lens once all information is complete, click “ \<font color="#0f2db3">create manual lens calibration\</font> ” to create the initial lens file the lens will now appear in the equipment list with a notification stating that further calibration is required
